Author's Pick #6 - You Could Have Made Exiting Visitors Your Subscribers

Building Email List for Weebly Users

Meanwhile, I was reading Social Triggers, one of my favorite sites. Know that, every web owner does not only need to know how to design their own site but should know something about “getting visitors” or in more meaningful term, acquiring "loyal readers”.

Well, I was really amazed with the topics on Social Triggers because they helped me a lot getting email subscribers. For now, I’m getting a minimum of 15 subscribers a week and as I can see, the more "new visitors" that comes to our site, the more opt ins for newsletter. And not just subscribers, they are "loyal" and "active" email subscribers.

I was here NOT to tell you how to get more subscribers (Dereck will do that), but I am here to give you widgets for your site.  But these subscription widgets are useless unless you know how and why should you use them. To get my point, please read the following tips from Social Triggers by Derek Halpern.

"If you’re running an online business, brick-and-mortar small business, or ANY kind of business, you NEED a way to stay in touch with your prospects and customers.

And since every single person in the world has an email address, building an email list is one of the cheapest, most cost-effective solution for doing that.

When’s the best time to get started?

Right now. Don’t wait for a “bribe.” Don’t wait for things to look perfect. Start building your email list today."

This is a very short passage but it means a lot... and can do a lot more. Please read the whole article "List Building 101: How to Build an Email List…And Actually Make Money From It".

TUTORIAL

Before we proceed, I assume you already have an email list provider, if you want PREMIUM but CHEAP email services you may take an account on AWeber or if you’re in a budget then create an account on FeedBurner.

Anyways, these widgets are intended for FeedBurner email lists so better create an account first.

Here, I will be showing two simple and solid subscription boxes for your site’s body and for its sidebar. You can easily add their codes by dragging an “embed code” element to your page or sidebar and paste it.

For sidebar:
<link href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=PT+Sans" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<style type="text/css" media="all">
.pbtsidebar {
    display: inline;
    float:left;
    font-size: 14px;
    text-shadow: 1px 1px #fff;
    width: 300px;
  margin-left: -10px;
}
.pbtsidebar .widget-wrap {
    padding: 30px;
}
.pbtenews #subbutton {
    -moz-border-radius: 3px;
    -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #a24a1d;
    -webkit-border-radius: 3px;
    -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #a24a1d;
    border-radius: 3px;
    box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #a24a1d;
    background: url("https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhysEdWFffnV1-2XhQ_AjC3fx0RWljlBHz5_s4TiktHjVmmU-GrqXgyr1o2qCd8ZganlYmpKm5kHtVP6KiwT3lf6Gtt2fpdV2kxTCbALk4trW-KIZ6KrPjRB8Hax24Ljd60Kl87H7gURPda/s1600/button-light.png") 0 0;
    border: none;
    color: #333 !important;
    font-size: 14px;
    font-weight: bold;
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding: 10px 15px;

</style>

</form>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
</div></div>
</center>
</div>

Notes for the two widgets:
Red text – Change with your FeedBurner name.
Yellow text – Your message.

The subscription box for sidebar has a standard width of 300px with auto height adjustment while that one for your page has 620px centered width.

CONCLUSION

It is important to tell people what should they do, show right on their faces a subscription widget and you’ve done your first move. Highly targeted audience will surely subscribe to these widgets.

To offer something in exchange for being a subscriber is another effective technique. These include giving a free ebook, free video tutorials , free template, being premium member and so on.

If you will combine Dereck's techniques with these simple but descent subscription boxes, you can convert new and exiting visitors as subscribers. I've proven it myself, so start building your email list NOW.
